Short version: no accounts, no email addresses, and the names you type never reach our server.
What stays on your device
Names, hints, rules and the draw itself are processed in your browser. Each person's match is stored inside their link after the # sign (the URL fragment), which browsers do not send to web servers. Your browser keeps your most recent draw in local storage on this device so you can resend links; Start over deletes it, as does clearing site data.
The white elephant game, your custom dice rules and the Santa letter form work the same way: they are saved in your browser's local storage on this device so a refresh doesn't lose them, and they are never uploaded. Clearing site data removes them.
Third parties this site loads
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy.
- Amazon Associates. Gift links go to Amazon with our associate tag. If you click one, Amazon may set cookies to credit the referral. We do not learn what you buy.
- Analytics and advertising. This site may use Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies or similar identifiers, and Google may use them to personalize ads. You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings. Visitors in the EEA, UK and some US states will see a consent prompt before advertising cookies are set.
Sharing links
When you share a link by WhatsApp, text or email, it passes through that service like any other message. Reveal and wishlist pages are excluded from search engines.
Hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested, without the # part of the link) for security and performance for a limited time.
